San Fernando Valley Mocha Moms
French Toast Casserole
Ingredients:
6-7 eggs beaten
1 cup half and half
1 cup milk
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp cinnamon
1 loaf french bread (in the bread aisle, not the bakery) cut diagonally
Directions:
In a large bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients except the bread.
Dip bread in mixture and layer bread in a buttered casserole dish. Pour the rest
of the mixture on top.
Put it in the fridge overnight. No, it won't get soggy.
The next morning. preheat oven to 350:
2 sticks of melted butter
1 1/2 cup of brown sugar
2 Tbsp maple syrup
Mix in a pot on medium heat until well blended.
Spoon mixture over the bread.
Bake for 40 minutes at 350. (Convection 30 minutes)
Should be golden brown when served.
Nutella & Caramelized Banana French Toast

Ingredients:
4 pieces thick sliced white bread
3 whole bananas
2 oz. nutella chocolate spread
4 eggs, beaten
1 oz. heavy cream
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 oz. powdered sugar for garnish
2 oz. butter for cooking
1 oz. granulated sugar for garnish
Directions:
Peel 2 bananas and cut into thin circles. Reserve.
Slice 4 thick slices of break approximately 1/2-inch think.
Spread nutella evenly on all 4 slices of bread.
Place the cut bananas evenly on 2 slices of the bread.
Add the 2 remaining slices of bread on top of the 2 slices
with bananas to form 2 sandwiches.
Beat the whole eggs in mixing bowl with heavy cream and
vanilla extract.
Dip each sandwich in the egg batter and cover well on both
sides.
Heat whole butter in a nonstick pan until thoroughly melted
and hot. Add the 2 egg-soaked sandwiches and cook in pan
until egg is cooked on both sides.
For presentation, cut the toast in half diagonally. Take
remaining banana and peel, cut lengthwise in half. Sprinkle
with granulated sugar on cut side and caramelize with toch.
Place on plate and dust with powdered sugar.
Serve immediately.

Ingredients:
1 pound loaf French bread - diagonally sliced to 1-inch
pieces
8 eggs
2 cups milk
1-1/2 cups half and half
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup butter
1-1/3 cups brown sugar
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
Directions:
Butter a 9 x 13-inch baking dish and arrange bread slices
in the bottom.
In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, half and half,
vanilla, and cinnamon.
Pour over bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, and
corn syrup; heat until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg
mixture.
Bake in 350-degree oven, uncovered, for 40 minutes.
Serves: 4
