| MOCHA TWEENS is a support group for Mocha Moms who have school-aged children that are beTWEEN toddler and teenager - ages 6-12. We number approximately 20 families with approximately 35 children. Our main goal is to help facilitate the lasting friendships that were formed at the weekly Mocha support group. Since our children are attending school all day and can no longer participate in that weekly event, we strive to create fun, educational ways for them to remain bonded and connected through Mocha Moms. Our monthly Parent Meeting is held the 1st Tuesday of each month to coordinate the calendar activities, fundraising ideas, budget monies, and schedule fun, creative and educational field trips. The 1st Thursday of each month is for Moms Morning Out where we gather to enjoy each others company. Our activities vary monthly but may include Movies and Mimosas, shopping, exercise, and more. During the school year we have a regular playgroup that meets the 3rd Saturday of each month. The TWEENS are also concerned about issues that face communities, locally and globally. Our goal each year is to become part of a humanitarian solution to problems our community faces. During the summer our TWEENS are very active with fun field trips twice weekly. We visit museums, animal zoos, beaches, water parks, roller-skating rinks, and go overnight camping to name a few. We encourage our TWEENS to become avid readers by hosting a READ-A-THON each summer. This is also a great fundraiser which pays for our End of the Summer Family BBQ. Tweens is a wonderful extension of the San Fernando Valley Chapter of Mocha Moms.
