Delicious Tofu Dish by MM Nina
1. Cut 1-2 packages of extra firm tofu into small squares. Cut the Tofu in half
down the center. Season with sea salt/salt and black pepper (Just to coat it)
Cut the 2 halves into 4x4 or 5x4 pieces. Fry (Peanut oil is good) / Bake (until
brown) the tofu and set aside. Tip: Use a non stick pot and limit the amount
of oil (with mine I use no oil and it works fine). (Trader Joes Organic extra
firm is good)
2. Mince 7 cloves of Garlic (Maybe more enough to cover the bottom of the
pot). Tip: Use a choppper or garlic crusher
3. Chop 1 medium onion 8ths or smaller if you prefer
4 Saute the Garlic until it begins to get medium brown. Add 1tsp of
Evaporated cane juice or sugar and stir. It will begin to get dark brown (it
won't taste burnt)
5. Add Onions and stir (try not to let them get wilted)
6. Turn the fire off
7. Add 1/4 cup Soy Sauce (or more depends on how much tofu you use to
begin with if necessary just add at the end), 1Tbsp Toasted Sesame seed oil
(or to taste), 3Tbsp seasoned Rice wine vinegar, Dash of Cayenne (or more if
you like spicy food)
8. Pour over tofu
9. Chop 2/3 tomatoes and add
10. Julienne 1/2 bell pepper and add
12. Chop 3-4 green onions (only use the green part) and add
13. Stir all together taste and add more seasonings if needed ( black pepper,
onion and / or garlic powder)
